As we continue to navigate the new reality that is our lives in this coronavirus age, we want to regularly communicate to keep you up to speed on how you can stay connected with people at Crestview. Our purpose hasn’t changed, equipping you to glorify and enjoy God, forever, through Jesus, so that we are loving God and loving our neighbors.
You may realize at this point that all regularly scheduled ministries (weekly gatherings, Wed PM programs, Sunday School) are paused. In terms of our local officials, we want to reiterate what they are saying: “Reno County Government would like to urge and encourage businesses and citizens to take active steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our community is our top priority. Take simple steps to prevent the spread of disease by COVID-19 by washing your hands; avoiding close contact with people who are sick; covering your coughs and sneezes; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands; clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces; stay home when sick. Stay up to date with COVID-19 information by visiting: www.kdheks.gov/coronavirus.” But, you’ve likely heard all of this already.
We will gather as an online community on Sunday, March 22 at 10:15 AM on the livestream (you could also look for us on Facebook Live). The livestream technically begins at 10:10 and we’ll have information cycling, including a verse for the day, some prayer points, and ways we can love our community these days. We’ve also created an email account to funnel any needs for help: firstname.lastname@example.org. Use this to communicate needs like help getting groceries, prayer needs, or even cash. We’d love to do what we can to support one another.
We have a children’s Sunday School lesson you could teach with your kids (lesson, visuals). Proverbs 3:5-6 is our verse of the week. Work on reviewing and memorizing this together. As you gather, sing A Mighty Fortress together. And, pray for these things related to the coronavirus. You can give online or mail a check to the church: 2401 N. Halstead, Hutchinson, KS 67502. There are normal sermon notes (like you’d find it the bulletin), plus a sermon note form for children and middle schoolers.
Should the 10:15 slot not be ideal for you in any way, you have the convenience of accessing the archive of each Sunday at a later time (it’s usually updated about 30 minutes after the live broadcast ends).
What else can we do to serve you in these days? If you think of anything, contact me, an elder, a deacon, or another person from Crestview. I know these days are going to show our resilience.
Some resources that we’ve found include:
Access to the Dwell Bible App (maybe the best audio Bible app out there) for 60 days
Crossway’s giving access to all kinds of resources related to Bible Study
WTS Books took some excerpts from their favorite books on anxiety and made them available for free.
