COVID-19 Update for CBC 3/29

COVID-19 Update for CBC 3/29

Friday, March 27, 2020

We have another weekend approaching and continue to navigate the realities of our community’s response to the coronavirus.  Meanwhile, our purpose hasn’t changed, equipping you to glorify and enjoy God, forever, through Jesus, so that we are loving God and loving our neighbors.

We continue to be in a holding pattern which means that all of our regularly scheduled ministries (weekly gatherings, Wed PM programs, Sunday School) are paused.  We recently finished up a semester of Women’s Bible Study in Genesis.  If you missed a session or need to review a particular week, you can find all the videos for God of Covenant here.

We will gather as an online community on Sunday, March 29 at 10:15AM on the livestream (you could also look for us on Facebook Live or YouTube).  Facebook isn’t necessarily the best place to catch this as many churches are broadcasting live at the same time.  We’d encourage to watch through the church website.  Further, this past week, we did some work on where our livestream is broadcast, and you can now watch it on Apple TV, Fire TV, or Roku.  Open your device, add an app called “Boxcast,” then search for Crestview.  Favorite us and you’ll be ready for Sunday.

This livestream technically begins at 10:10 and we’ll have Announcements rotating as the broadcast begins, including a verse for the day, some prayer points, and ways we can love our community in these days.  Use the help@crestviewhutch.org email address to communicate needs like help getting groceries, prayer needs, or even cash.  We’d love to do what we can to support one another.

We have a children’s Sunday School lesson you could teach with your kids (lessonvisuals).  Psalm 90:12 is our verse of the week.  Work on reviewing and memorizing this together.  As you gather, sing How Firm A Foundation together.  And, pray for these things related to the coronavirus.  You can give online or mail a check to the church: 2401 N. Halstead, Hutchinson, KS 67502.  There are normal sermon notes (like you’d find it the bulletin), plus a sermon note form for children and middle schoolers.

Should the 10:15 slot not be ideal for you in any way, you have the convenience of accessing the archive of each Sunday at a later time (it’s usually updated about 30 minutes after the live broadcast ends).

What else can we do to serve you in these days?  If you think of anything, contact me, an elder, a deacon, or another person from Crestview.  I know these days are going to show our resilience.

Also, we’d love you to keep steeping in Scripture and have provided access to the Dwell Bible App (maybe the best audio Bible app out there) for 60 days.

I was encouraged by these 30 ways to stay connected and build community while social distancing.  We want to continue to be near you and long for the day when we can gather again.

Love you.

Pastor Phil
